Graemsay High Lighthouse

I went over to Hoy to volunteer with the RSPB again, planting trees in White Glen. It feels good planting trees.

You can't tell from the image (!), but the wind was very strong, so much so that we took the route from Stromness to Moaness via the south end of Graemsay, rather than the usual north end route. As a crew member said...'there's a couple of big holes that way you wouldn't like.'

We planted eighty or so downy birch, on the previous trip we planted about eighty-five . We could have got more in but ran out of stakes. Where's a good vampire-hunter wholesaler when you need one!
