Enchanted tree
You've all perhaps seen, in fairytale storybooks, images of enchanted forests where the trees have faces. Well, today I saw a real one. This enchanted tree can be found in the park of Träskända manor, in Espoo. The park is a protected nature reserve and in the lands of the manor can be found besides of the main building, a royal lavatory - that was built in 1863 to honor the hunting visit of emperor Alexander the 2nd, Diana temple- a gazebo designed by C.L. Engel etc.
The manor was established in the 18th century, but the present main building was built only in 1890's after the original was ruined by a fire.
The manor park has also served as a film set. During the winter 2011 there were shot scenes for a Finnish movie "Where we once walked" that's based to the novel of Kjell Westö. In the film the Träskända park served as a substitute for the famous Kaivopuisto-park.
