KNOBBLY KNEES

You wouldnt be too quick to take this bird home to show your parents ( I dont think) - Its a spurwing plover and sombody put one up the other day but I cant think who it was - In that one the Spurs on the wings were very evident and I got to thinking about those spurs. This one ( and its mate ) werent exhibiting the and I wondered if they just have them exposed during mating and breeding season.

They're raucous, they fly at night - they fight like the living daylights and they'rer the first ones up to have a go at the Hawks when they pass by. They give those hawks heaps ! Phantom of the Estuary ?? I like them !
