The Coliseum Cinema, West Fountainbridge

Went to the cinema in Fountainbridge to see 'John Carter' (good fun!) but not the Coliseum cinema but Cineworld along the road.

The Coliseum was opened 1911 with 1800 seats; a conversion of a roller skating rink. Part of a cine-ballroom complex also incorporating the Palais de Dance.

The cinema closed 1942, and most recently it was a Mecca Bingo Hall, however that closed down and it is now heading to dereliction. I hope it can be saved.
