Clearly Meandering

Lough Derravaragh

One of the most beautiful lakes in the midlands. Surrounded by rolling hills and enveloped in history. The famous Irish folkloric tale of The Children of Lir is based here.

The little island you see in the middle with a small forest is called a crannog, often specially built as burial grounds for high kings. Not a bad place at all to be laid down.
