Tynemouth Priory

Spent some time here before attending fund raising event at Whitley Bay Saturday Stage School.

Commanding a superb defensive position on a headland overlooking the Tyne, the ruins of Tynemouth Priory and Castle are now surrounded only by gravestones and seagulls. But for most of its 2,000 year history the headland was inhabited by communities of monks and soldiers.
