Everyday I Write The Book

How to tickle a pomegranate

- a new skill I learned today.

Had the most fantastic time - got up early and drove down to Bath in under two hours, had breakfast and a look around the cathedral. Then spent the day at Demuths vegetarian cookery school where we did a course entitled Flavours of the Middle East. Learnt some wonderful recipes, great basic cooking skills, and met some really nice people. Misheard "We will teach you knife skills" as "we will teach you life skills" (phew!) but apart from that a very stress free, nurturing day. Try it, it's fantastic - the staff are so warm and friendly and the atmosphere is so lovely, it's about as far from the hell of a Gordon Ramsay culinary moment as you can imagine. Particular thanks to Jo and Helen, the lovely Demuths head chefs for running such a lovely day, and fellow participant Yvonne, who we so enjoyed working with on the dishes.

Even managed to grab a couple of pics through the car window of the Avon countryside during a misty sunset on the drive home.

Too tired now to write one of my wordy effusive blips - suffice to say it was brilliant and I'll let the pictures tell the story, if you want to see them all click here
