Gear Pr0n

MooMan posted a shot of his gear and suggested others should do the same. As I sometimes find it tricky to summon up the inspiration for a blip every day, I'm more than happy to jump on the bandwagon.

So, here it is. My gear. Well, some of it. I didn't bother to include the kit lens. And there's no shot of my camera bag or the tripod that's in the boot of my car. And the Sony DSC-T1 is downstairs. And I used the Leica to take this pic, so its not in the frame either. Obviously.

1. Canon 30D - a real workhorse. Been covered in dust from the deserts in Africa. Still going strong. Love it.

2. Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L - a great every day lens that produces great results like this.

3. Canon 300mm f/4 L - a 2nd hand bargain on eBay - very beaten up on the outside but super sharp and very quick to focus. Ace for wildlife 'togging.

4. Canon 200mm f/2.8 L - the first serious lens I bought when I was still using film. Doesn't get out and about much these days, but it has captured some magical moments in its time.

5. Canon 10-22mm - gotta love the things a wide angle lens can do.

6. Canon 100 - 400 mm L - not used a lot, but it has its its uses. And its heavy.

7. Canon 50mm f/1.4 - everyone needs a fast 50mm lens. This lets so much light in its unreal. And super-sharp too, but with such a narrow depth of field it can produce really creative results.

8. Canon 500D close up lens for stuff like this. Cheaper than a dedicated macro lens and well worth it.

9. Various filters and random crap that don't get used much. I used to have skylight filters on all my lenses, but I've recently taken them off - it seems a bit daft to spend stupid amounts of money on precision ground glass and then put some hastily produced Chinese window in front of it. I've a 10 stop ND that does come out to play occasionally. But that's about it these days.

10. And a box to put it all in. Except it doesn't all fit.

So, there you go. Too much gear. Not enough idea.

/edit - evidently BlipCentral wasn't keen on the original version of this pic, which had identifying numbers overlaid on the pic to aid identification of the kit. I've had to remove the numbers. Basically, the numbering worked from left to right across the pic.
