Up close and personal
There are lots of these big rocks at one spot on the beach where the tide has dragged them in and abandoned them over many years. They're fascinating when you take a really good look.
The weathering and variety of texture, patterns and colour - in just one rock - is extraordinary. And the rusty coloured ones have lots of holes/rock pools in them where smaller stones - and in some cases, shells - are permanently lodged.
I wonder how long it will take this one to turn into shingle.
