Apart from a bit of coughing at about eleven, the wingpiglet again managed to not be particularly put out by his mum not being present all evening whilst she's at her cousin's hen-thing. He disrupted the downstairs/upstairs book-reading balance in favour of the former but was asleep by about twenty past eight, so should hopefully not repeat his late-to-bed-up-really-early thing he did after not getting to sleep until after nine last night.

I couldn't give the levers from oldbike a try yesterday as I discovered that I needed a couple of the little flanged ferrule stopper things which used to be attached to part of the package when buying replacement brake cables, back in the days of yore. I found a couple in the Bike Station but then discovered that the old brakes don't lever sufficiently (nor hold the cable securely enough) for use, resulting in a reverse-mounted STI again. Fortunately the same cable has survived several re-threadings whilst I decide where things will sit on a more permanent basis.
