My favorite yoga studio in town is closing. So sad. The Westlake studio is staying open so I don't feel like I've lost Yoga Vida entirely but I love, love, love the 707 studio. The feel of the room. The light in the room. The etched glass on the windows. The colors in the room - mint green on one wall, bamboo wallpaper on the other, and windows for the other two walls. The fact that you can sometimes hear someone emptying bottles from the bars one street away in the alley out back. The little nook of serenity that is only one block away from 6th Street - known for its bars and social scene. And the memories of the studio. Early morning classes with Amy taught by Deralyn and then Katie. Sunday evening classes with Lisa taught by Dean. Thursday afternoon classes where I would sometimes encounter my students taught by Vic. Thankfully, the teachers will travel to the Westlake studio...but the memories will stay on 7th Street for me.
