Loch an Eilein Castle

Once a stronghold of Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan (1343-1405) who is more famously known as the Wolf of Badenoch. He was the third son of King Robert II of Scotland.

Other castles lay claim to the title 'stronghold of the Wolf', namely Lochindorb Castle which is worth a blip in itself.

Loch an Eilein Castle leads a more peaceful existence now as a photographic backdrop for wedding groups.
