Rhododendron

The national flower of Nepal. I'm currently reading Seven Years in Tibet, so today's blip is quite fitting to my changing perceptions and appreciation of Asian culture.

Although these woody plants can display quite exotic flowers, they are also a pest and invade woodland areas replacing the natural understory and are very difficult to eradicate.
