A Bonfire
Today the weather was excellent and despite the fact that I was supposed to be working on my OU assignments and then tutoring my granddaughter, the temptation to get some more of the garden tidied, was much too great.
Last year health problems prevented much of the needed work from being tackled, so there was an enormous pile of garden rubbish in the vegetable patch waiting to be burned and a years weed growth waiting to be hacked back prior to a proper tidy. This took from 0800 until 1300 and left me hardly able to stand upright, but the satisfaction was worth it. The rubbish has been burned, the weed growth has been cut back to ground level and then removed and also burned. It almost looks like a vegetable patch again.
Tea is potatoes baked in the ashes of the bonfire, they always taste much better when done that way perhaps this is psychological, but they still taste very good!
So today's blip is of the bonfire, with the original rubbish burning, before the additional debris from the vegetable patch was added. The garden hose already attached to the outside tap, is just outside the bottom of the picture; the sheds are only some 20 feet away from the fire.
