Café Society
I went out for a spin on my bike this morning and found myself on one of my regular routes which passes Fort Perch Rock on the banks of the Mersey at New Brighton.
The Fort, constructed on a coastal area formerly used by wreckers to lure merchant ships onto the rocks, was originally planned as a defence against the possible invasion of Liverpool during the Napoleonic wars but by the time anyone got round to building it (in the 1820s) the wars had been over for several years! Plus ça change...
Today the Fort was hosting a Vintage Clothing Fair so I thought I'd have a look around but I was too early and stall holders were still arriving and setting up shop so I got back on my bike and pedalled off again.
I did spot these three gents hanging around hopefully though - vintage clothing clearly being their thing. I don't know who they are but for a moment I thought Hüsker Dü had reformed...
