Moving statue

We're still adjusting to our new weekend surroundings and went out this morning to do some exploring around the caravan park. As we wandered down the road we noticed an area of the park has been turned in to a wildlife walk. I commented that someone had put a statue of a heron amongst the long grass and we carried on walking.

On the return trip we took the option of the wildlife walk rather than the road and as we got within 20 feet of the statue, much to my surprise it took off!! It flew in a circle around the clearing on the park before landing high in this tree when I put my little point and shoot in full zoom and managed to capture this shot.

There was a board along the wildlife walk with pictures of birds and animals that had previously been spotted in the area. Heron wasn't on the list but there were enough other species to hopefully provide a few more weekend blips if they put in an appearance.
