Tètchaje
Tètchaje is creole for trouble.
This was one of these days, where three days later you are still wondering what actually happened on that day.
The picture is a wall painting made by children, it is their idea of what their neighbourhood should look like. In the morning I went to visit the neighbourhood, in this neighbourhood a similar project to our's has been realised.
Amazing results, this is the kid's dream come true. I can't wait to see the results in our neighbourhoods in a few months time!
Unfortunately the day didn't proceed as calm as the morning field visit and the picture look like.
In the afternoon I had a flashback to architecture school. My colleague and me puled of a legendary 'indesign-beunsessie'. Which was needed because we had to make a presentation for a headquarters delegation in the limited timespan of 2 hours.
Within these two hours, the president announced a press conference, which panicked the country. Rumours indicated that unrest would arise after the press conference.
In the end, they managed to blow a storm in a glass of water, because Martelly showed his 8 passport, to prove that he is fully Haitian (and not American).
In the end, we made it to the presentation, we left a good impression and the country remained calm!
Since it was international woman's day I finished this hectic day on a relaxing couch watching the documentary 'missrepresentation' with some girl friends.
Watch it, if you can! You won't stop talking about it...
