The Stage is Set

I was in Kyoto for three days to run in the Kyoto Marathon. The evening before the marathon I took a walk up to Yasaka Shrine and Maruyama Park. There were some incredible illuminated sculptures in the park and Maiko dancing on this stage. It was stunning. Unfortunately, I was way back in the audience so I couldn't get any good photographs of the maiko, but I was determined to return the next evening and grab a place in the front row.
