Take the Time

The Elan Valley.

Sprawling out ahead of us, the Elan Valley rolled on majestically. A light breeze played with the rushes and a small stream trickled nearby - the only sounds in a vast, breathtaking landscape.

The rugged air of the valley is something hard to find elsewhere. If I told you that you'll witness a thousand shades of brown, you wouldn't think it would make for a stunning experience, but it does. It holds a sort of barren beauty; a desolate peace that somehow walks into your soul and calms it.

But then sometimes the most silent places can hold surprises.

These dwarf daffodils were perched by a brook. Just two little clumps of them; the only colour for miles.

Just goes to show that if you take the time, you can always find something special.
