Shells. Lots of shells.
Took some London friends to the Shell Grotto in Margate today. It was discovered in the 1850s, but no-one really knows what purpose it served - favourite (and probably most plausible) theory is that it was a pagan temple. 4.6 million shells have been used to decorate the walls - it's a fascinating and weird place.
There were probably better photos but it has taken me forever to get this one up - I've been trying since last Saturday, and it's now 12 March. Frustrated?? Just a tiny bi.
