Lonely

a wooden fence
alongside a road
cars race pass
but never notice
this guardian
of the verge

it's wood is rotten
leaving its nails
standing proud
and yet ashamed
on their lonely vigil
waiting for final collapse

This was one of two possible blips today - I needed help from MrsCyclops to help me choose whether to use this or the other one. I suspect I'll revisit the other idea another day...

By the way, thank you all for your wonderful comments on my Hopetoun House blip yesterday.

Back to the grindstone nowfor me, but we're going to the cinema later to see "RocknRolla" if I can get away from work in time. So that should be nice!
