Old Bridge at Riverside Gardens, Ilkley
Had a really nice circular walk with my mum and her old black Labrador Bess today along both banks of the River Wharfe at Ilkley Riverside Gardens. This is a picture of the old 17th Century 3-span stone bridge now closed to road traffic. When my dad was alive he used to come down to the gardens often with mum as it is all pretty level and he was a bit unsteady on his feet. He'd sit on the bench and watch the ducks whilst my mum went off for fish and chips or ice creams (or both!). We missed him, but had a laugh remembering all his little foibles.
Sadly old Bess is also getting very old and unsteady now, but still would jump at the chance to get her feet wet in the River....just like me. It's T-minus 3 days for the start of the Trout fly fishing season now. It's been six months in the waiting, so getting excited just looking at that beautiful river. Sad or what?
Not sure about the quality but messed arounf with HDR turned on the iphone this time, and cropping and reverting to black and white using free Snapseed App.
Trying to find the correct name of the bridge, I came across some really nice pictures and info on it on www.markhockeyphotography.com/gallery_409480.html
