Stained-weave throw
Better weather today for the Festival of World Cultures, but there was a clash with the Italian Grand Prix and there was a lunch invite for that. So it was a question of a rushed wander along the Dún Laoghaire seafront with a quick stop at one of the food stalls before getting a taxi to the GP lunch venue. I was glad I'd spotted the sun streaming through the filigree top of Carl's wrought-iron side table and creating this stained-glass effect on the throw on the ottoman, because what was in the camera from the Festival wasn't great.
The new Valencia track for the European GP looked impressive, but the race itself was a bit of a procession. We were delighted that Massa won, but frustrated by yet another mechanical failure from Ferrari. Michael, our host, looked after us really well, and we had a pleasant afternoon before dashing back to the Festival to meet our pal Dave whose brother was performing in Lime Bar. It was a hugely enjoyable evening, and we had a good old chat session with Dave and bro after the music. It was all a bit of liquid day, really, and I have to admit to an uncharacteristically sore head by the time it came to an end, and a definite feeling of having had quite enough to drink thank you very much.
