J and others stretching up ahead of their karate grading, successfully achieving 2nd Kyu in J's case.

Karateka (students) typically start at 9th or 10th Kyu, progress to lower numbers culminating in 1st Kyu, then 1st Dan "black", then you count up again.  It's a surprise to many that there is no standardisation of belt colours. J moved tonight from Brown to Brown+White, in our previous club that would be Purple+White to Brown.

Don't tell the kids but that snowman gets targeted more than most snowpersons.
