Marischal College

A walk past Marischal on the way to the supermarket today, lead to a blip after a busy day.

The college was originally built in 1844 by Archibald Simpson. In 1860 the University of Aberdeen and Marischal College were merged. Since then the building has been owned by the University of Aberdeen.

After an extension in 1906 the college became the 2nd largest granite building in the world.

Since 2009 the building has been leased to the Aberdeen City Council.
