The Big Picture
The white mountains to the left are the same as on this picture. Then there is Esja, The Reykjavik Mountain and then some more. The mountain to the left of the white mountain is here.
The thing in the middle is panoramic point and it is on a hill in the middle of Seltjarnarnes, my small village - you have to drive through Reykjavik to get there. The thing beside it is the stand for the old panoramic point - Icelanders are not keen on getting rid of things they don't have need for anymore - you should see my storage.
The hill's name is Val-húsa-hæð, yes, three words put together. The first one could mean dead people (like Valhalla = Hall of the dead) or the bird gyrfalcon or choice so it is really difficult to decide - the other two names are very easy to understand, nearly the same as in English hús(a) = house and hæð = hill.
The funny looking house that seems to be collapsing is their church - not mine, I'm not Christian, never go there - and a little to the right of it is the tower of one of the ten most beautiful churches in the world, Hallgrimskikrja.
Now you know a little more about the place I live in.
