For the Record,
This day came in rainy and warm, showers lifted and as Nora would say, very pleasant day.
Expect normal service tomorrow but diary bits now and then. ~gj and I discussed some ideas yesterday for using these diaries as we chatted on our great internet phone connection. Here he is with his great grandmother, Nora, when she was probably 95. The photos on the table beside her are of her mother (who died when she was 2, after her only brother was born) and herself as a girl. The school bell was her father in law's. Nora rang it if she needed my mother to come help her with something. She lived with my parents at the end of her long life, 1893-1989.
Normal service may not resume tomorrow due to popular demand.
I also must confess to having a transcribed copy of my paternal great grandfather's Civil War diary as well...
