Damn horses

So, today Mrs BH and I went to Cheltenham for the day. Her dad and uncle went to the races, and we went into town with her mum. We picked up some tips and stopped in at the bookies to place our bets.

Being a non-betting person I try to spend the least amount possible and with the minimum risk. So I went for a place pot bet today - choose a horse that you think will place, for each of six races, and wait for the money to arrive...

After the debacle of the first race where none of the favourites won, my bet was worthless. That's two whole pounds wasted! I spent more on a toasted teacake :)
