A Suffolk Eye

Corduroy fields

Here's the sandy farmland round Ramsholt where today I led a 7 mile birthday walk (my own).

Apart from the fields, we saw four hares playing too madly to recognise us as a threat , a herd of roe deer who had accidentally ended up next to us and were deeply anxious to get away, the first woodpeckers, drumming, and many many songbirds engaged in flirting and nest-building.

And the first dark purple violets.

Spring is here!
