Surprise
My husband woke me up right before midnight so I could look outside. The entire neighborhood was blanketed in beautiful, white snow. It was like daylight in the dark with the glow of the street lights being amplified by all the white snow. Something out of a movie. I got up for awhile and just watched it fall. This isn't something I've seen in my lifetime living here. I've heard people mentioning that it hasn't snowed like this since 1969. Wow.
I believe we got between 4 or 5 inches of snow. And it was real snow! Like the kind you can use to make snowmen, snow angels and sledding hills. When we usually get snow, it is slushy and messy and never sticks. This stuff was amazing.
The schools were cancelled and my work delayed opening until noon. So the boys and I spent all morning making snow creatures and sledding down our little hill. Oh and a couple of snowball fights had to happen too.
After all my bitching about the weather yesterday, I got such a beautiful gift. And in March. Wow.
