Inverse. Reverse. Perverse.
A Level History of Art trip to the Tate Britain in London today.
This piece was a large concave mirror called "Inverse Reverse Perverse" (1996) by Cerith Wyn Evans. It was in a room containing one of my favourite paintings "No Woman, No Cry" by Chris Ofili.
In my opinion, this piece is both abstract and representative, as it is abstract in itself, but then gives a representation of the image it reflects. Whilst it reflects an image, it also gives a whole other perspective on it. It's ability to be simultaneously simple and complex was the reason that I liked it so much.
