There's many things I love about being back to work - the fact that our 'real life' is now under way means that there's lots of little surprises along the way.

One of my favourite things is coming home and checking out what Arlo's been up to while I've been out all day.

There's usually some random scenes happening in his room. One day I came home and all his dinosaurs were lined up facing his fire engines. Some mighty battle was about to take place.

Today, the dino from Toy Story obviously fancied a snack. Snatching up all the random socks that permanently lie about our floors. That could be quite useful, actually.

Whilst Arlo and the dino played and played and played, Ida slept for more than 3 hours at nursery. It's like she saves up all her sleep for the days when we PAY for childcare. Wee minx. She's all smiles this evening - individually throwing all the duplo bricks over the floor, laughing like a loon as each one plinks to the carpet.

Oh actually - now she's putting them all back in...result!
