Old Church, Raheny
A wonderfully productive night last night, and productivity continued in to today.
Things were going so well, in fact, that I felt justified in going out blip-hunting in the afternoon. Not very imaginatively, I went back to Raheny, the scene of last week's crime. Having 'done' the modern church that time, it seemed only fair to go a bit back in time, clamber onto a bench, lift the camera overhead and point it at the old church ruin in the centre of (what used to be) the village. This was the Church of St. Assam, built in 1712, probably replacing a building of 1609, itself a successor on a church site which tradition has going back nearly 1500 years. There are gates in a surrounding wall, but these are kept locked. There's probably a notice somewhere about picking up a key, but I didn't see anything about this.
I fitted in a decent bit of a walk, heading towards home, before catching a bus to get back to work.
