A day of trains and boats and planes

What can I say, red eye flight to London Gatwick, delayed, Gatwick fog bound, flight over 1.5 hrs late :-(
Gatwick Express into Victoria station, late, previous train broke down, causing a queue of trains trying to get in, my train had to take a huge detour, but at least it got in.
Negotiating the underground went surprisingly well, considering I had forgotten the route to Waterloo Station :-/
From Waterloo a train to Southampton and my destination is almost in sight. But it too has woes to relate, more break downs and manning problems
All in all I think I lost about 4hrs traveling due to hold ups of some description :-(
