Java island

I'm staying for two days in the quirky Lloyds Hotel in Amsterdam for our annual group meeting. Situated in the Eastern Docklands, the hotel has previously been a prison and an orphanage and was originally designed as a hotel for passengers arriving from South America on the Royal Holland Lloyd (KHL) line.

The view is of Java island (named after Java in Asia due to trading links) which has been the subject of a relatively recent urban redevelopment.
