some boys got a card school going whilst waiting for the teacher to arrive - Hambo joined the fun!!

Reminds me of my last school when, on the second to last lesson on a Friday afternoon, the Deputy Head went into the Staffroom and found a teacher (nearing retirement) reading a newspaper, in a very relaxed manner.
The DH asked why the teacher wasn't taking his class.
'But I haven't taught in this lesson all term!' came the reply.
So the two of them progressed to the teacher's classroom where they discovered the boys had set up a couple of card schools and were using sweets as chips!
Ahh the Good Old Days, when these things were allowed to happen!!
