The Priest Fainted
Or Imam Bayildi as it is called in the original Turkish. No-one knows the origin of the name although I have my own theory. It's a rich dish of onions, peppers, tomatoes and olive oil with various spices and seasoning, cooked in the oven on a bed of pan fried split aubergines. Truly scrumptious. Gets better overnight which is why we have done these today ready for Saturday (S&D, this is your dinner - see you tomorrow night!).
Mr M's last day today - one of our Directors - a very popular, intensely likeable man who will be greatly missed. We went to the pub for a couple of beers after work and the turnout was terrific - I have to confess when I left and shook his hand and we said our farewells - well lets just say I realised once and for all that the NHS I know, founded on integrity and values and public service, is now an endangered species.
Anyway enough of the doom and gloom - here's to a wet weekend and catching up with more of the things that matter!
