So Many.....
.....balls of wool!!!
I never realised that so many rolls of yarn existed!.....Well I did actually, but seeing them all, and all in every colour known to 'wo'mankind in the same room was a little overwhelming.
Today's shoot involved a lot of knitting, and very much like on Tuesday, my hands were employed to demonstrate the techniques required.
I personally like to knit, but am mostly self taught and have been shown certain things by my mum, who was taught in the same way by her mother. Neither mum or I follow patterns, we just make, and take apart and remake until we end up with something we like.....so today's shoot became like a huge lesson for me, but I very much doubt I will be able to remember it all, if anything.
Far too many needles and pretty colours for a girl like me to retain all that knowledge haha!
One of the designs featured in the book is a hat, and atop this woolly hat is a pom pom. Claire jumped at the chance to be the one to prepare the pom pom. She lovingly cut out the paper circles from a cereal box and wrapped with all her heart, the wool around the cardboard shaped donuts. The result is the most luscious and plumpest pom pom you will ever see ;)
This is not a shot that will be featuring in the book, but I just couldn't resist taking a photo of the woolen beauty, and my newly polished hands couldn't resist making an appearance either.
I wish you all a happy pom pom day ;)
