National day of mourning

This is a shot of ABS kids getting ready for a minute silence on the national day of mourning to remember the children and adults involved in the swiss coach crash. We were joined by the Flemish school, with whom we share a playground, moments later. After 2 short speeches in English and Dutch, we all fell silent at 11.00. After a minute the bells of the nearby churches (and all over the country) started to toll and didn't stop for 5 mins. During all this time none of the children (pre-school to A-level) were quiet until the last bell sound. So eerily beautiful, goose bumps and wet eyes for me.
