Ready for work (and a wedding)

I was at Soroba House Hotel in Oban today, to speak to the young students who were graduating from their "Hospitality Taster" course. All of them were distant from the labour market and this ten week course was designed to give them some key starter skills (such as the basic food handling qualification, and one for basic bar keeping) so that they could get a start in the hospitality and tourism sector.

The students chose to theme the day as a wedding, and to show they could arrange , cater for, and host one. It was a great afternoon, with quite a few brides and bridegrooms, all of whom were changing back and forth into waiters, chefs and drinks servers as required. Lots of help from the town as well - a real community effort.
