Fire Ladder

It was open day at the Fire Museum in Lauriston Place Edinburgh so i spent an interesting hour and a half viewing exhibits and taking the guided tour. This is a shot of a fire ladder that was mounted on a two wheeled cart and pulled by a horse to the fire. Once there it was unhitched and moved into position by hand, then the ladder was raised by a hand crank.
