Old glory.

This afternoon we went to Mar Hall an old house on the banks of the Clyde. There are several of these old grand houses along the river all from a much grander era. MarHall is beside Erskine Hospital for ex servicemen and the wounded. It is a charity which is funded by fundraising in this part of the world. This fact infuriates me. Not the raising money but the fact that it is not funded by the state. However I digress. Mar Hall is now a hotel and function centre with a spa and golf course. The views are great. We had a lovely afternoon tea served by a charming young lady called Kirsty. I've always loved chandeliers (having been brought up in a small house they always seemed so exotic!) and was particularly taken by this beauty hanging in the room we had tea in. The weather today has been stunning , sunny and warm. So lovely to walk without a big padded jacket !
