Scrabble
We have a TV, but don't subscribe to the cable channels here in Oman as they are mostly tripe. There are a couple of BBC channels available but food and history are not the most entertaining topics after a long day of teaching, so it's mainly DVDs that provide an evening's quota of entertainment. We're currently working our way through Curb Your Enthusiasm, Gavin and Stacey and the extremely impressive Six Feet Under.
You can't watch DVDs all the time though, and when we're not, we play Scrabble. Actually, we play a lot of Scrabble.
Larissa scored 471 in this game, an impressive feat. Together we scored 801, which I don't think we'll beat anytime soon. It makes all the difference knowing all the strange 2-letter words out there, although there is a slight discrepancy between the Collins Scrabble Dictionary that we use and the official list.
For a time, I was enjoying playing Scrabulous on Facebook for while with these guys but it's been taken off. I can see why; it was a blatant copy of the game. How they got away with it for so long is a mystery.
