Bye Bye Civilisation (Hello St Kilda)

So it's finally arrived - tomorrow I leave for my 7-week stint as a field research assistant for the Soay Sheep Project up on St Kilda, aka "the edge of the world". I'm excited but also quite nervous, it'll take some adjusting (no mobiles, no internet, and very few people) but hopefully will be a great experience. And very beautiful, so lots of opportunity for photographic and artistic inspiration!

I'm moreorless packed (thanks to my lovely mum, she's a far better packer than me), hopefully I won't forget anything too essential, as pretty much the only things you can buy there are stamps and beer!!

So this is my signing-off blip, a couple of topical books with some little good luck charms from my sister. Hopefully I'll manage to keep up my 'take-at-least-one-photo-a-day-for-a-year' challenge and do a massive backblipping sesh when I get back.
