Ben Rinnes from Brown Muir
With my son we had a quick stroll up Brown Muir which is becoming a regular walk for me. Today was sunny but windy and we seemed to be missing some showers. From the top we could see, Windmills at Knockando, Carn Uish , Drummuir and Huntly as well as the test array in The Moray Firth out on The Beatrice oil field site. Brown Muir is also the subject of a planning application for more turbines. Went to the recycling centre earlier after a major clear out of the shed, A fascinating place and very busy, the spring sun had clearly stimulated some spring cleaning, Cars were queuing to dump all sorts of stuff.
What a change I remember in the late seventies wind power and recycling were considered the domain of ' 'Hippies' and cranks, pretty mainstream now.
