'House Beautiful'

In the middle distance is Houghton House near Ampthill. I am lucky enough to work a 20 minute stroll away so nipped over on my lunch break. I didn't have time to walk right up to the shell of the 17th Century mansion today but I'm sure I'll blip it today.

It was built around 1615 and it's said to have been the inspiration of the 'House Beautiful' in John Bunyan's Pilgrims Progress.

The views from this mansion are stunning, unfortunately I don't have a camera that does it justice.
