[life is good]

'piano song'

and i need you to know
to just wait for me to trust
and hold on because
no matter what you say
you can't stop the world
that's in my head...

--the mile after

my summer has been one big cliche.

overseas affair with a goodbye kiss for who knows how long at the airport.
motorcycle rides at night under the stars with my hair blowing in the wind.
shots at the local bar where everyone knows your name.
weekend at the lakehouse that turned into so much more than expected.
taking shoes off at obscene hours so as not to wake anyone while creeping across the olden wooden floor after curfew [and not always succeeding].
family always being the one constant.
poem on notebook paper that's already read so many times the creases are beginning to tear.
a bottle of wine and a golf cart under the summer night sky.
songs that everyone knows the words to and aren't afraid to show it.

I had everything figured out in february.
it all fell apart in march.
I'm putting it back together and realizing....
that 180 was just what I needed.
