Footprints of the early risers

The day began with the unwelcome realisation that it was Monday morning and we were completely out of bread. Faced with the problem of how to make sandwiches without it, and encouraged by the clear early sunshine I walked up into town to pick some up at about seven o'clock, and found the footprints on the footbridge over the river.
