makes sense

I had a fraught trip to the bank today, so stopped at M&S to buy a sandwich for lunch to cheer myself up. They do make exceedingly good sandwiches... It was a nice day so after coffee with a friend I walked to town to visit the bank and make a BACS payment. My online banking is unavailable for 10 days after they neglected to update the login details when they sent me a new card, and now that I have pointed that out it is going to take 10 days for them to fix it. Straightforward enough to just go to the bank though?? Turns out, despite my going in person nearly 3 years ago to change my address when I moved house, and subsequently receiving regular bank statements to my current address, they had my old address on record and wouldn't believe I had moved without adequate proof of address!!! As I wasn't expecting to have to change my address, having already done it some time ago, I didn't have any :( waste of time. Still, it was a very nice day for a walk. Hugh enjoyed the fresh air and I enjoyed the sandwiches. Must try harder tomorrow.
