Marine Band
Today I accidentally went to the occasion of the visit by Princess Anne to Fareham to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
I knew something was going on, but wasn't sure about times etc. but I had to pop into town and as I was coming out of the shopping centre realised there was something important going on!
I just heard the prayers at the end of the service (I recognised the lady's voice as I know her), then the Mayor got up to speak and then the Marine Band marched and played as they had been given the Freedom to march, play music and even bang sticks!
It was a very nice occasion. The sun was shining and there were a lot of sailors all dressed up and looking very smart and of courses all the dignatories were dressed up too. Afterwards I was having a muffin (low fat) and a skinny latte in the shopping centre when some of them walked past. I was just glad I am no-one special as I am not keen on dressing up and being posh :)
